I use a client-centered approach and partner with adult clients, so that they may explore and grow from trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship challenges, substance use, as well as life stressors and transitions to live a more satisfying life.
I view "the relationship" as the client and the relational dynamic as “the problem.” I strive to create a safe space for honest communication, so that partners can deepen connection, understanding, trust, and healing by doing their therapeutic work together and truly being known.
Couple's work is informed by Dr. Gottman’s research and Dr. Sue Johnson's "Emotionally Focused Therapy" to explore the couples' patterns of relating and strengthen their adult attachment bond. I work with couples struggling to rebuild trust and recover after an affair; deepen intimacy and “affair proof” their relationship; navigate the challenges of life stage and role changes/ expectations (parenthood, midlife, etc); and manage major life stressors, so that your relationship may be your source of support.
I offer private relationship retreats and workshops to gain tools and strengthen your relationship with your partner, reconnect, grow, and rejuvenate.
My experience is that the teachers we need most are the people we’re living with right now.
~ Byron Katie
I offer in-office, in-home, and telephone consultation to support parents with parenting challenges and to improve the parent-child relationship. I provide individual and group support for parents-to-be, new parents, caregivers going through the adoption process, step-parents of blended families, co-parents, single parents, and parents with children of all developmental stages and abilities. I offer targeted therapeutic support, resources, and education to promote a secure and healthy parent-child attachment. Parenting groups offer an intimate and fun way to create community, learn more about parenting, and support each other in the process of raising healthy children.
I provide education and support to heal and grow through the emotional divorce, which can last long after the legal separation/ divorce, impact future love relationships, and make single parenting and co-parenting challenging. Co-parent coaching can help players work together, develop a workable plan, provide structure in different households, and improve communication for the common goal of raising healthy and well-adjusted children.
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.
